1. Who we are

This website is run by Sayah Recovery Services Limited ("Sayah Recovery", "we", "us"), a company registered in England & Wales, company no. 14864887. Registered office: The Coach House, Housham Hall Farm, Harlow Road, Matching Tye, Harlow, Essex, CM17 0PB.

2. What we collect and why

When you call or message us

When you call us, message us on WhatsApp or email us, we receive your phone number or email address and anything you tell us — typically your name, location, vehicle details and what has happened. We use this to arrange and carry out your recovery, give you a price and keep you updated.

Lawful basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and performing that contract.

"Share My Location" (WhatsApp)

If you press a "Share Location" button, your browser asks for permission to read your device's location. Only if you allow it, the website puts your coordinates into a pre-written WhatsApp message to us as a Google Maps link. The location is not stored on this website — it is only sent if you then send the WhatsApp message. WhatsApp is provided by WhatsApp Ireland Limited (Meta).

Lawful basis: your consent, which you give through your browser's permission prompt and by sending the message.

Contact form

The form on our Contact page collects your name, phone number, email address (optional), the service you need, your location and any details you add. The form is processed by our form provider, Formspree, which emails the request to us.

Lawful basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in replying to enquiries.

Reviews

If you write a review on our website, we collect the name you enter, your star rating and your comment. Reviews are stored in Google Firebase and checked by us before they appear; approved reviews are shown publicly on our homepage with the name you entered.

Lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by asking us to remove your review.

Website statistics (analytics)

Only if you click Accept on our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site — for example which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are located, what device they use, and how often the call and WhatsApp buttons are pressed. Google Analytics uses cookies and an online identifier for this. We do not use advertising cookies.

Lawful basis: your consent. If you click Decline, analytics cookies are not set.

Technical data

Like any website, our hosting provider receives technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site and keep it secure. Our pages also load fonts from Google Fonts and, on the Gallery page, video thumbnails and players from YouTube, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and shares your IP address with them.

Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website.

3. Who we share your data with

• Recovery partners — if your recovery is outside our own operating area, we pass your name, phone number, location and vehicle details to a vetted partner recovery operator so they can carry out the job.
• Insurers, garages and repairers — when you ask us to help with accident management or deliver your vehicle to them.
• Service providers who process data on our behalf: Netlify (website hosting), Google (Firebase, Analytics, Tag Manager, Fonts, YouTube), Formspree (contact form) and WhatsApp/Meta (messaging).
• Our marketing agency, which may access website statistics (not your contact details) to help improve the site.
• Authorities such as the police or National Highways where we are legally required to, or where it is needed for safety at an incident.

We never sell your personal data.

4. International transfers

Some of our service providers (including Google, Netlify, Formspree and Meta) may process data outside the UK, mainly in the United States. Where this happens, the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK–US Data Bridge or standard contractual clauses.

5. How long we keep it

• Job and invoice records — 6 years, to meet tax and accounting requirements.
• Enquiries that don't become a job — up to 12 months.
• Reviews — while they are shown on our site, or until you ask us to remove them.
• Analytics data — up to 14 months, then deleted automatically by Google Analytics.

6. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
• ask us to correct or delete it;
• object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it;
• ask us to transfer it to you or another organisation;
• withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

To use any of these rights, email sayahrecovery@gmail.com. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

We use Google Consent Mode, so Google's tags do not store analytics cookies unless you accept. You can change your choice at any time:
